This 2002 Lexus SC 430 is a Southern California car with only 113,917 miles. I am the second owner, and it was purchased new in 2002 for $62,580.
The car is mechanically perfect, with smooth acceleration and braking, and is ready to drive anywhere. It has been well maintained, and recently received a new timing belt, new radiator, and new brakes.
The engine is a 4.3 L 3UZ-FE V8 with variable valve timing (VVT-i). This engine produces 300 hp, good for a 0 to 60 time of 6.2 seconds. The transmission is a five-speed automatic, and the car is rear wheel drive.
The power-retractable convertible top works perfectly.
Equipped with cold air conditioning, cruise control, power seats, heated seats, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and Bird’s Eye Maple wood trim.
It has the Mark Levinson premium sound system with 9 speakers, 240 watts and 6-disc CD changer. I added a $300 adapter unit that lets you connect your iPhone or MP3 player.
The leather interior has some worn areas, but no tears. The seat leather is still soft and supple, but it could use a good cleaning. The 2002 and 2003 SC 430s were built by hand in Japan, and were made with very high-quality leather. The 2004 through 2010 models were made on an assembly line with cheap Chinese leather.
The Pirelli P7 tires are in very good condition. The body has a few scrapes and scratches, but no significant dents. The wheels have some curb rash.
It has a salvage title in my name, current smog certificate, and current registration. The salvage title is not due to any accident. The first owner had it in storage for several years, and the wiring harness and electrical system were damaged by rodents, which is a very expensive repair. It is now in perfect running condition, with no warning lights or issues of any kind.
